There’s something magical about lingerie (and no, I’m not talking about it’s ability to turn a grown man into a drooling neanderthal when donned correctly, though that is rather nifty). Like many, there’s something about slipping into some dainty lace and sensual silk that makes me feel instantly better, even with the knowledge that no-one else is going to see it (it’s a girl thing); and few do delicates better than Melbourne’s Hopeless Lingerie.
Founded by sisters Gabrielle and Dominique in August 2008, Hopeless make vintage-inspired lingerie and sleepwear from luxurious fabrics such as silk, chiffon, georgette, liberty cotton and organic jersey.
Now, if you’re looking for something challenging, rewarding and generally rad to do in 2011, and you’ve got at least potentially mad sewing skills, then pay attention: the ladies behind Hopeless are seeking an intern to assist with almost every aspect of the label.
You’ll need to live in Melbourne, have basic sewing experience and be available for a minimum of one day a week for the year.
