Who Wore It Best: Miley Cyrus vs. Nerea Garmendia in Emilio Pucci

I love crop tops and maxi skirts. I also love the 90’s. So it stands to reason that I love this Emilio Pucci ensemble, rocked by newly engaged starlet Miley Cyrus and actress Nerea Garmendi. But who pulled off Peter Dundas‘ ensemble better?

To be honest, this one is a pretty close call. Both ladies have offset the bold tone of the outfit with soft ombre waves, nude lips and subtly smoked almonds eyes. Miley‘s red carpet ensemble (FYI – she rocked this outfit for the LA premiere of fiancΓ© Liam Hemsworth‘s film, The Hunger Games back in March) is finished off with Loree Rodkin jewels, whilst Nerea completed her Axel Hotel event look with ruby and emerald Rabat cuffs which I’m majorly crushing on.

I’m glad that both ladies kept their accessories to a bare minimum, allowing the exquisite beading detail on Pucci‘s garments to come to the fore, but I must say Nerea‘s cuffs have pushed her over the edge and into first place for me. Their tiny shot of colour is the cherry on top, whilst Miley‘s bling is like those funny nuts that you get on Pizza Hut sundaes, that are almost invisible to the naked eye and always taste borderline stale. I wish one of them had gone for a slight goth twist, as seen on Pucci‘s spring 12 runway too. However, I do much prefer the length and styling of Miley‘s bodice compared to Nerea‘s; the latter, in combination with her formidable abs, is a tad too Xena: Warrior Princess. So really, I guess you could call this one a tie.

Who do you guys prefer: Miley or Nerea?

(On a side note, you can shop this look in my Lyst collection – I’ve just joined, so take a look around, see what you think and maybe join yourself. But be warned – it’s addictive!)

  1. I love the gothic way it was styled in the original collection better than either of their looks, but I think the length of Miley’s bodice makes me like it on her more.
