Queen Kaya

This announcement couldn’t have come at a better time, as I’ve recently devoured the third season of Skins (for what feels like the hundredth time) and re-discovered my absolute love and awe for Kaya Scodelario.

Auditioning for the role of Tony Stonem’s wayward little sister Effy when she was only 14, Kaya quickly stole the show and became the only cast member to transcend the bi-seasonal cast changes Skins has become known for. Whilst in the first generation she had to vie with Cassie for my affections, seasons 3 and 4 were really all about Effy and her messy love triangle with the roguish charmer Cook and kind-hearted s8er boi Freddie.

Back in April 2010, Kaya mesmerised in the following cover editorial for ASOS Magazine

…and continued to rock her character’s love of barely-there couture for this InStyle shoot:

In recent years, Kaya has flexed her acting chops with roles in Moon (as a creepy girl) and most recently Wuthering Heights. This latest role has launched her back into the public eye, with covers for Wonderland and Elle Korea and editorials for Elle US (natural in Carven) and Crash (slick in Chanel resort 2013).

Trust me – this girl is destined for great things.
